Bale Mountains National Park is 2,400 square kilometers in area, covering a wide range of habitats and ranging in altitude from 1,500 to 4,377 meters, southern Ethiopia’s highest point. The spectacular Harenna escarpment running from east to west divides the area into two major parts. The high-altitude plateau area, formed of ancient volcanic rocks and dissected by many rivers and streams that have cut deep gorges into the edges.

Day 1

Addis Ababa:

Guests will arrive in Addis Ababa, where they will be welcomed and transferred to their hotel by a Pagumen tour and travel representative. Depending on arrival time a City tour of Addis Ababa will be arranged. Addis Ababa being the center of the country’s Economic, social and political activity has a lot of traditional and modern city life to offer Pagumen guests. On this day the city tour of Addis Ababa will cover the National museum: home for the oldest and famous hominid fossil of ‘Lucy’, Mount Entoto for the scenic view of Addis Ababa the Trinity cathedral church. Also known in Amharic as Kidist Selassie, the Trinity Church is the highest ranking Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Cathedral in Addis Ababa. It was built to commemorate Ethiopia's liberation from Italian occupation and is an important place of worship and ceremonial events in Addis Ababa, and Merkato, (also the city center and recognized as one of East Africa’s largest and vibrant market places). Day 2

Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains National Park

This day drive from Addis Ababa to the Bale Mountains National Park. This is one of Ethiopia’s scenic drive across eastern highland of Ethiopia. Arrive at the park headquarters Dinisho in the late afternoon before heading to your hotel at Goba town. The head quarter is a place where you spot endemic mammals that are abundantly visible in the area: Menelik's Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala. Overnight Goba

Day 3

Dinsho – Gaysay Valley- Finch Habera Falls

First drive to Gaysay valley the main attraction of the park wild life which are found until Dinsho like the Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck should be visible. Stop by Habera Waterfall for a nice break. Trekking will take 4-5 hours. Overnight camping at Finch Habera Falls

Day 4

Habera Water Falls- Wasama Valley

Trek to Wasama through a beautiful landscape with stunning views. Pass through Mararo valley where the Lammergeyer and Verraux Eagles keep nests with chances of viewing the fauna and flora. This trek takes 7-8 hours. Overnight camping at Wasama Valley

Day 5

Wasama Valley- Lake Gebra Guracha

Start the day by hiking up mountain Wasama (4200m) and then continue down into the Worgona Valley. Flora and fauna will be discovered until you end up the day at Lake Gebre Guracha, meaning “black lake” in the Oromic language. Trekking will take 7-8 hours. Overnight Camping Gebra Guracha

Day 6

Gebra Guracha- Sennati Plateau

Take a short trek from Gebre Guracha up to the Sennati Plateau to our vehicles. Senatti is the highest plateau in Africa with all-weather surfaced road. Here you will see the endemic Ethiopian Wolf in afro alpine habitat. Overnight Goba

Day 7

Drive to Addis Ababa and Departure

Drive back to Addis Ababa and relax until the evening, where guests will have an arranged fare well dinner at one of Addis’ best traditional restaurant featuring live folkloric music and dance show before being driven to the airport for final departure.
